The Festival of Chestnuts and Truffles

The festival of chestnuts and truffles takes place at the end of October to Montaione in the province of Florence. This gastronomic event takes place in the park of Villa Serena where there are many booths offering truffles, chestnuts, and local products such as oil, wine, homemade bread, honey and Vinsanto all strictly products Montaione.While the conduct the festival there are also many shows and entertainment including the race of dogs "tartuf/truffles".Con the occasion of the festival which annually receives more than 70000 visitors, to see Montaione, a country rich in archaeological finds Etruscans testifying to the presence of ancient settlements in the area.
